BENEFITS · WHY MTPE

Why choose MTPE

Using unedited machine translation directly is risky: terminology errors, unnatural tone and cultural mistranslation can damage brand credibility. MTPE puts humans in the loop to make machine output genuinely usable.

Fast

The machine produces a draft instantly and translators focus on revision rather than word-by-word translation, halving turnaround on large projects.

Cost-effective

Charged by editing volume and notably lower than human-only translation; the larger the content, the greater the advantage.

Assured quality

Editors correct terminology, grammar, numbers and omissions, bringing the translation to the agreed quality level, ready for use.

Consistent terms

Connected to client term bases and translation memory, the machine translates to standard, keeping terms consistent across batches.

Two post-editing levels, chosen to your needs

Different purposes call for different quality requirements. Following international standards (ISO 18587), we offer two post-editing levels, confirmed with you before quoting.

  • Light post-editing: corrects mistranslations, terminology and obvious grammar issues, ensuring accuracy and readability — suited to internal use and rapid understanding
  • Full post-editing: refines tone, sentence structure and style throughout, approaching human-translation quality — suited to external release and brand content
  • For highly formal documents (medical, legal), we recommend human-only translation

FAQ · COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about MTPE

What is the difference between MTPE and human-only translation?
Human-only translation is produced from scratch and is the most idiomatic, suited to formal, sensitive and highly demanding documents; MTPE edits a machine draft and is faster and more economical, suited to large-volume, time-sensitive content focused on accurate communication. If unsure, send a sample and we will produce a short comparison free of charge.
Is the content processed securely? Will it leak?
Sensitive content can be processed through localised or enterprise-grade machine translation channels, so data does not enter public corpora; projects can be covered by an NDA under the same confidentiality standards as human translation.
What level does full post-editing reach?
Fully post-edited translations are grammatically correct with accurate terminology and natural tone, and an ordinary reader cannot tell they were based on a machine draft; however, highly literary or creative content still benefits from human, creative-style translation.
How is it priced?
Charged by source word count and editing level; light and full editing are priced differently and both are notably below human-only translation. Send your documents and state the purpose for a quote within 30 minutes.
