USE CASES · WHERE IT IS ACCEPTED

Tailored to the receiving body

The direction of translation, the format and the attachments differ according to whether the certificate is used for a visa, immigration or a China work permit. We shape the package to match your receiving body and reduce repeated requests.

01

Study visas

Police clearance certificates for student visas and university enrolment, usually translated into English or the target language, with every detail matched line by line with the original.

02

Work visas

Certificates for employment, technical and dependant work visa files, prepared to the embassy or employer checklist with names and passport numbers kept consistent.

03

Immigration applications

Certificates for permanent residence, citizenship and family reunification files, with terminology aligned to local immigration usage and a translator’s declaration as proof of origin.

04

China work permits

Overseas police clearance certificates translated into Chinese for foreign nationals seeking a China work permit; this can be handled together with our China work permit translation.

05

Notary support

Supporting translations when a notary office processes a no-criminal-record notarisation, with format and wording suited to the issuing requirements — see our legal and notarial document translation.

A stamped translation and notarisation are two separate steps

Receiving bodies normally require the translation to carry a translator’s declaration and the agency stamp as proof of origin and accuracy. We provide translation and stamping only; we do not arrange notarisation, consular legalisation or an apostille — those steps are handled by a notary office, a foreign affairs office or an embassy, and are independent of translation. An apostille does not replace a translation: it confirms the authenticity of a signature or seal, not the language. The receiving authority’s requirements always govern.

  • Names, dates of birth, passport numbers and certificate reference numbers checked item by item; unclear handwriting is never guessed
  • Layout matched to the issuing country or region, with seals and signature blocks kept in position
  • Officially registered translation stamp, translator’s declaration and qualification copies supplied
  • Translation and stamping only — please arrange notarisation or legalisation as the receiving body directs

FAQ · COMMON QUESTIONS

Police clearance certificate translation Q&A

Does a police clearance certificate translation need a stamp?
For visas, immigration, work permits or notary support, the receiving body normally requires the translation to carry a translator’s declaration and the agency stamp as proof of origin and accuracy. We issue translations bearing our officially registered translation stamp and can supply our business licence and qualification copies for verification. The receiving authority’s requirements always govern.
Can you translate an FBI Identity History Summary, an ACRO, AFP or RCMP certificate?
Yes. We translate the US FBI Identity History Summary, the UK ACRO Police Certificate, the Australian AFP Police Check, the Canadian RCMP Criminal Record Check and many other overseas certificates, in either direction, with the layout matched to the issuing country.
Must an overseas police certificate be notarised or legalised first?
Whether notarisation and consular legalisation are needed, and who handles them, depends on the issuing country and the receiving body; they are normally arranged by a notary office, a foreign affairs office or an embassy. We provide translation and stamping only. An apostille does not replace a translation — the apostille concerns the authenticity of a signature or seal, while the translation concerns the language. The receiving authority’s requirements always govern.
Do you need the originals, and how long does it take?
Clear photographs or scans are sufficient. Standard certificates are usually completed within one working day; rush orders deliver the electronic version the same day, with the hard copy sent according to courier timescales.
What if the name, passport number or a date differs slightly?
We check the name spelling, date of birth, passport number and certificate reference number item by item. Where something is unclear or amended we confirm with you before translating; we never guess and never alter the original information.
Can you also handle a Hong Kong CNCC, a Taiwan police record or a Singapore COC?
Yes. Certificates issued by police authorities in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries are all covered. A foreign-language original can be translated into Chinese or English, and where the receiving body specifies a language we translate into that language.
How are fees calculated?
Charged per certificate or per page, with stamping included at no extra cost; language, page count and layout complexity may affect the price. Send us your documents and we will give an exact quote within 30 minutes.
